From 82 BC – 526 AD Rome defended its ever expanding empire from migrations & invasions. It also came into conflict with resident tribes. Several barbarian leaders revolted against Rome’s mighty army. Some, like Boudicca are well known today. Others are seen as heroes in their own countries. They include three leaders who were responsible for the Roman Empire’s greatest defeats & the sack of Rome.
