Expressions of Interest are sought for this newCourse commencing Friday 17 July 2026:Beginners GuitarTutor Wayne Curran11.00am – 12.30pm FridayCommencing Friday 17 July2026 AuditoriumThis course is for students who are wanting to learn the basics of acoustic guitar playing. The sessions will be hands on and fun with lots of opportunities to practice the skills taught. Members of the class will need to have an acoustic guitar along with a capo, tuner and music stand.Topics covered include.Guitar parts and hardwareTuningStrumming PatternsBasic Open ChordsBasic Music TheoryGuitar TablatureParticipants will also practice and learn simple songs mainly from 60s and 70s during most sessions. Please bring your singing voice as the tutor needs all the help he can muster.The TutorLike many people Wayne learnt guitar at school but after leaving did not pick up the instrument for forty years. Just over ten years ago he decided to become involved again, had several lessons and joined various courses to slowly improve his knowledge and skills with the instrument. He is currently a member of a four-piece guitar group called Gecko and also involved with a larger guitar and sing a long ensemble called The Tanawha Troupe.
