Who can join?

Anyone can apply.  There are no special conditions or prerequisites that are required.

Are there any age restrictions?

All persons over the age of 18 years are welcome to join.

How do I sign up for a class?

All courses must be registered for through Reception by phone, email or in person.

What do I need to bring to a course?

In art classes you will need to bring your own equipment. For other classes there are generally no specific course requirements.  If in doubt, check with the tutor or reception.

I am hearing impaired

Although we do not have a hearing/audio induction loop we make every endeavour to assist with hearing difficulties.

Is there a limit to the courses I can attend?

There is no limit to the number of courses you can attend.  You are free to choose from across the curriculum. You can register your name on a waiting list for any courses that are full.

How do I join U3A noosa?

You can apply for membership at U3A noosa, Michell House 64 Poinciana Avenue, Tewantin, or lodge an online application via our website under the Membership tab. 

How do I get a paper copy of the course timetable?

You can pick up a paper copy at U3A noosa at Michell House or print one from this website.

Do I have to become a member?

You have to become a member to attend our courses.  We do hold special events and talks which are open to the public.

Where can I park?

There is limited parking available at U3A noosa  at Michell House.  You can apply at U3A Reception for a permit to park at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church nearby.

Do you accept reciprocal members of U3A?

We accept reciprocal members of the U3A worldwide network. Proof of current financial membership is required.

Do you have disabled facilities?

We have a chairlift, wheelchair and disabled toilet facilities. Carers of disabled members are welcome to accompany those members who require assistance.  Unfortunately, U3A is unable to provide carer assistance.

Do tutors have to be members?

Tutors do not have to become members. They can be classed as ex officio unless they are attending other classes in which case membership is required.

What does the membership fee cover?

Access to courses, events and all U3A facilities including access to our comprehensive library.

Following membership, what are the costs of individual courses?

All courses are $3 per class for members with the exception of computer courses which are $5 per class for members. Friday Afternoon Specials are also $3 per talk.

How do I get information if I don’t have regular access to email/internet?

Our friendly reception staff are always ready to assist. You can phone us on 07 5440 5500 or call in at U3A house.  Office hours are 9 am – 4 pm   Monday to Friday.

Is U3A a member of any religious or political group?

We are part of the U3A worldwide network.

We are not affiliated with any other organisations.  

The aim of U3A noosa is to provide an environment for the exchange of knowledge in a range of academic, cultural, recreational and social activities, offering stimulation and development for the well being of our members.
