MEETING OPENED: 1.30pm
Mike Hines opened the meeting; welcomed the members to the Annual General Meeting of U3A Noosa, thanked them for coming and confirmed that we have a quorum.
There were no additional apologies from the floor.
Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held 24 February 2023
The minutes of the previous AGM were available on the notice board for sighting by members 7 days prior to the meeting and were taken as read.
There was no business arising from the minutes.
President’s Annual Report for year 2023
The President’s report has been available on the notice boards for sighting by members 7 days prior to the meeting and is taken as read.
The report is attached to the minutes.
Liz Gleghorn addressed the meeting in addition to her report, stating 2023 had been a very good year for Noosa U3A, with a positive recovery from the pandemic. Membership and class fees are to stay as they are, with thanks to the finance sub-committee. Curriculum is more diverse, with Liz thanking the wonderful tutors. The Reception Membership data base is now working to our satisfaction and IT systems upgraded. Liz made reference to the fabulous Reception team of volunteers, the nerve centre of Noosa U3A. She thanked Mike Hines, Alan Roberts, and all sub-committee members, Management Committee, other volunteers and of course all the members for a successful 2023.
Audit and Finance Report
The report is attached to the Minutes.
Treasurer’s Report – John Edwards
John presented a summary of the Auditor’s report which is attached in detail.
John moved that his report by accepted; seconded by Meg Oldham. Carried: unanimously.
Auditor
John reported on the changes to legislation that meant that U3A was now classified as a small organisation so an audit is no longer required; but the Management Committee did request a review of operations by an accountant. (details in the attached)
Election of Office Bearers and Management Committee for 2024
Mike Hines declared all positions vacant. He read out the nominations. The list is attached.
There being only one nomination for each position Mike declared the following Office Bearers and Management Committee duly elected.

Mike Hines asked for nominations from the floor for committee members as there are vacancies. There were none.
